Step by Step Guide on Finding your Niche

Start now, figure it out later.

Good morning, entrepreneurs.

Today read: 5 minutes.

We are going to dive straight into "how to identify your niche."

If you don't know what a "niche" is. Let me explain:

A niche is defined as a specialized segment of the market for a particular kind of product or service.

In order to get started as an entrepreneur, you are going to want to figure out what area you want to focus on. For me, that was business & finance and in particular; entrepreneurs.

Let's dive in.

Defining your Niche

STEP 1: Look at yourself

This step is arguably the most important of them all. You need to figure out what you like to do & what you're good at. Then learn a specialized skill if you don't have one already.

Ex: Copywriting, video editing, script writing, social media, etc.

It is of the utmost importance you pick something that you are passionate about it. It will be the main factor in your chance of succeeding.

I love finance & everything to do with business. So, I choose a niche that allowed me to focus on the things I love.

STEP 2: Is there a market for your niche?

If there already is great.

  • Study at the competition

  • Find ways to make yourself unique in the space.

  • Do what they do but either add more value or do it for less.

There is nothing wrong with mocking your competitors at first to get inspiration. Facebook groups and subreddits are a great place to start looking.

If there isn't, even better. (see step 3)

STEP 3: Niche of niche

Unless you already have a massive following, it will be hard to stand out in your niche.

The bigger accounts already have their keywords optimized and they rank first.

That is why a sub-niche or a "niche of a niche" will work better to expose your content to more people who might like it.

EX:

Marketing and psychology are both their own niches.

He stands out in the crows because he combined them into his own niche.

Bottom line: Become your own niche.

STEP 4: Preparation

This phase is often the one people get too caught up doing.

Planning is important, you want to find out how big your market is, what type of products and services you want to offer, and the list goes on and on.

Remember: money is just an exchange of value.

If you want to make money, add value to people's lives. Not only that but make it impossible for them not to buy your product.

It's fine to plan but remember the most crucial step is to just start.

This leads me to step 5.

STEP 5: Just start

You are never going to be as ready as you think you might be. You don't want to look back and think " I should've started sooner".

The perfect time to start is now.

You can figure out the answer to any question you have with a couple of YouTube or Google searches.

Most give up too early, which is why they never succeed and don't understand how some people have these "overnight successes."

However long you think it will take for you to make it, multiply that number by 1.5.

It's right at the point where most people give up is when their about to make it.

Most people have spent years grinding on their passion before they make it and all of a sudden it seems their rolling around in cash.

The truth is more like an iceberg. People only see your successes & have no idea how long it actually took you to get there.
