TPS #4 Time Management = Money.

Don't let time control you.

Read Time: 4 minutes

Welcome back, solopreneurs.

Your time is the only asset you can never make more of on this earth.

It doesn't matter if you are Jeff Bezos or Elon musk. Even they can't buy their time back.

That's why it's of the utmost importance to make the most out of your 24 hours.

Quick backstory:

I am a full-time student in college, and I work 30 hours a week at my day job.

On top of that, I run 2 newsletters each week, write content daily, and build Notion templates in my free time.

You could say I know what it takes to make the most out of what you got.

Now let's dive into what it takes to get the most done without getting burned out.

Let's start with the basics. Setting priorities.

Now everyone has their own to-do lists. But most people do it wrong.

There are two things to keep in mind when creating a to-do list.

  1. Is the task actionable?

  2. Is this a high energy investment?

If it's one, then either write it down or do it right now. If it's two, then schedule doing that task first in the day.

When you accomplish a more tedious/time-consuming task, you will be more motivated to keep going.

But there does come a time when motivation fails, and that's why it's important to take breaks. It's more worth resting for 30 minutes than wasting two hours of unproductive work thinking you are being productive.

What do I use to stay organized?

For most projects, tasks, and notes, I use Notion. My own custom template that I've been building for a while (I will be making it public eventually).

Besides that, I am a huge fan of the Apple calendar. I have a big-sized widget on the home screen of both my iPad and iPhone, so I know exactly what's going on.

If you have client meetings or other obligations. You can create a free Zapier account and automate the scheduling from Calendly to your google calendar and then finally to apple calendar.

It might seem like a hassle, but the extra minutes it saves daily are crucial to maintaining a productive lifestyle without getting burned out.

It comes down to your work environment when all is said and done.

Here are 3 easy tips to get the most out of your focus time.

  1. Identify your triggers.

No one knows you better than you know yourself. So know what causes you to break from the flow state and actively avoid those things. (for me, it's my phone notifications)

2. Create a productive workspace.

It's hard to focus if you have a million different items on your desk, all begging for your attention. That's why I like to keep my setup as minimalistic as possible.

3. Avoid multi-tasking.

The more you can focus on getting one single task done. The more you will get done in one day.

So close the tabs that don't need to be open, and make sure that you won't get distracted and start doing something else.

Single-tasking is one of the highest ROI decisions you can make to increase your productivity.

We all have the same 24 hours in a day.

If you want to start a business or a side hustle to make some extra cash. It's on you.

If you want it, you'll make it a priority in your life. You're responsible, no one else.

With that being said, good luck out there, fellow solopreneurs!

I'll see you back here next week:)
